Southampton FC revitalise the way they communicate with fans

Project Details

21st Century communication

After reading a Telecoms Buyers’ Guide written by Red Rose Technologies founder Andy Moules, Southampton Football Club’s IT Director contacted us to modernise their communication. They wanted to introduce a cloud-based telephone system to make it easier for fans to engage with the club.

After spending time in departments at the club’s St Mary’s Stadium, we started to understand their needs and challenges. We reported back to the IT director and his team on what kind of system would work best, identifying four potential suppliers and, once confirmed that they worked to the club’s needs and budget, we coordinated the procurement phase of the project.

Potential suppliers weren’t bombarding the IT director

It was easy for the club because once the suppliers demonstrated their systems, they weren’t then bombarding the IT director with follow-up calls as we were the main point of contact, acting as a buffer as if we were a member of the IT team.

After choosing a supplier the work didn’t stop

Once a supplier had been identified, we drove down the price to ensure the club got the best value. We challenged both Southampton Football Club and the supplier to make sure that when we get to a certain point of the project, we are all collaborating and all on the same wavelength.

Faster system

The new phone system gives a faster, better experience to fans when they contact the club.

More resilient

It replaced two traditional systems that couldn’t talk to each other, allowing staff to work from anywhere.

Relay more information back to the club

The new system gives Southampton FC more statistics, analytics and data-driven insights.
